Description
Candidates must possess computer literacy, and proficient typing skills, as well as professional and efficient multi-tasking capabilities. Phone etiquette, medical terminology, and exceptional interpersonal skills are required. Certified ophthalmic assistants are preferred (COA), however uncertified ophthalmic assistants will be considered. Must have experience utilizing electronic medical records and no less than 6 months experience with direct patient care.
Candidates must be able to stand and be mobile for up to 8 hours a day.
Responsibilities include:
Pre-exam testing and data gathering to include: chief complaint, history of present illness, visual acuity, neutralization of glasses prescription, refraction, assessment of pupils, confrontation fields, and anterior chamber depth, scribing, A-scans, visual field, fundus photography, OCT, topography, and pachymetry testing, applanation and tonopen tonometry, assisting in minor surgeries, sterilization of surgical instruments
