Our 55+ year old medium duty truck and equipment dealership is dedicated to providing excellent service and quality vehicles to our customers. We are seeking a skilled and detailed-oriented Controller to manage our financial operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our dealership.
Job Description:
As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the dealership, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. You will play a critical role in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and inventory control, while also supporting the overall administrative functions of the dealership.
Financial Management:
· Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting, including preparing and analyzing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
· Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable process to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
· Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
· Process payroll and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
· Assist with tax preparation and filings, including coordinating with external accountants for audits and tax returns.
Inventory Management:
· Manage inventory records for equipment including tracking stock numbers and stock levels, create folders for each piece of inventory, title management,
· Perform inventory audits to identify and resolve discrepancies
· Oversee the procurement process and ensure efficient management of inventory turnover.
· Handle rental properties including tenant relations, market properties, coordinate repairs and maintenance tasks & upkeep, lease agreements, rent collection, tenant communication, evictions, conflict resolution, managing and coordinating emergency situations, or any other tasks that may arise.
Administrative and Operational Duties:
· Support general administrative functions, including managing/ordering office supplies and handling correspondence
· Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
· Assist in the development and execution of dealership policies and procedures.
· Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management to aid in strategic planning
Sales and Customer Support:
· Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate financial tracking of sales orders and customer accounts
· Address any financial related inquiries or issues from customers and vendors.
· Answer calls, emails, and other forms of communication between employees and customers and assist in handling customer complaints if necessary.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a controller or in a similar financial management role, preferably within a dealership or equipment distribution environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance.
QuickBooks experience is a must.
Notary is a must
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail, and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with dealership duties is a plus.
